SUPPORT & FAQ
Help and frequently asked questions.
Setup
What do I need to use BAM?
Apple Vision Pro running visionOS 2.0 or later, an Apple Watch for live biometric streaming (strongly recommended), and an internet connection for the AI companion. BAM also reads from Apple Health as a fallback when the live Watch session is not active.
How do I pair my Apple Watch?
Open BAM on Vision Pro. Tap the Connect Apple Watch button in the dashboard header. Follow the prompts on both your Vision Pro and the BAM Watch companion app. Grant HealthKit permissions when asked. The connection is local — no data leaves your devices for this step.
Can I use BAM without an Apple Watch?
Partially. BAM falls back to Apple Health for the most recent biometric snapshots, so the dashboard still shows numbers. But the live lung wireframe and AI conversational adaptation are designed around continuous Watch streaming. The experience is much richer with a Watch on your wrist.
Privacy and data
Where does my voice go?
To OpenAI Realtime API for real-time processing only — never stored on our servers, never used to train models. We use short-lived ephemeral session credentials so your audio session has its own token, not a long-lived API key.
Where does my biometric data go?
Nowhere off-device, except as short text summaries shared with the AI companion as conversation context. Heart rate, breath, oxygen — all processed on-device. The companion sees something like “HR 76 BPM, breath 14 br/min, overall GREEN” — not raw sensor streams.
Do you have my account information?
BAM has no accounts. There is nothing to log into. No email, no password, no payment data on file with us. The only persistent state lives on your Vision Pro in standard iOS UserDefaults — and a delete-the-app removes it all.
Where can I read the full privacy policy?
Read our full privacy policy here. Short version: biometric data on-device, voice through OpenAI ephemeral credentials, no tracking, no analytics, no ad IDs, not a medical device.
Using BAM
What is the difference between the three modes?
Wellness guides you toward homeostasis with slow breathing and body scans. Therapy mirrors physiological shifts back to you for somatic awareness. Performance coaches breath cadence and HR zones during physical or focus efforts. Each mode rewrites the AI persona entirely.
How do I calibrate my breath?
Settings → Breath → Calibrate. The 45-second guided process captures your room ambient floor, three inhales, and three exhales. BAM builds a 4-band spectral fingerprint of your breath so the lung wireframe can track YOUR pace, not a generic curve.
Can I switch modes mid-session?
Yes. Tap the mode pill in the dashboard header. The session auto-restarts with the new persona within about a second. Useful if you start a Wellness session and realize you actually want Therapy mode mirroring.
How long is a typical session?
5 to 15 minutes is typical. BAM is designed for short, intentional sessions — not infinite engagement loops. When you tap Finish, BAM saves a session recap showing the biometric delta from start to end.
Troubleshooting
The voice is not working.
Open Settings → Developer → enable Voice debug overlay → tap voice and observe the WebSocket and route status on the dashboard. Common causes: device muted, no internet, Vision Pro speaker route changed to AirPods that are not connected.
The lung wireframe seems off-pace with my breathing.
Re-calibrate breath in Settings → Breath → Calibrate. Multi-cycle calibration with three inhales and three exhales is more accurate than the system defaults. If you have moved to a noisier room or changed from nasal to mouth breathing, re-calibrate.
I get a No internet message but my Wi-Fi is fine.
BAM uses a Cloudflare Worker to mint short-lived voice tokens. If the Worker is unreachable, voice fails gracefully. The dashboard and biometric tracking still work offline — only the AI companion needs internet.
Account and safety
How do I cancel?
Delete the app from your Vision Pro. There is nothing to unsubscribe from. We do not maintain accounts, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Is BAM a medical device?
No. BAM is for informational and wellness use. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any condition. If you have a medical concern, please consult a qualified clinician.
I am in crisis. Should I use BAM?
Please contact a qualified professional or crisis services. BAM is not designed for acute mental-health emergencies. In the US, dial or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
